Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City
To gain protection from the French occupation in the 1940s, Communist guerrillas known as the Viet Cong dug tens of thousands of miles of tunnels with bare hands and simple tools, which were expanded further during the Second World War. war against America in the 1960s.
